El Código Penal no prohíbe WhatsApp, pero cambia la relación entre médicos y pacientes

El nuevo Código Penal, que entró en vigencia el pasado 3 de agosto, no prohíbe que los médicos se comuniquen con sus pacientes a través de WhatsApp, teléfono u otras plataformas digitales donde habitualmente se compartían resultados de estudios, solicitudes de indicaciones médicas, pruebas de laboratorio y licencias por enfermedad.

Sin embargo, el endurecimiento de las sanciones por negligencia en la Ley 74-25 ha llevado a algunos profesionales a adoptar mayores precauciones y a limitar las orientaciones que ofrecen fuera de una consulta presencial.

Así lo explicó el abogado Juan Medina, quien aseguró que el intercambio de mensajes entre un médico y un paciente no constituye, por sí solo, un delito, pero advirtió que una conversación aislada tampoco sustituye la documentación médica correspondiente.

  • Álvarez, quien hizo historia en 1982 al convertirse en la primera dominicana en ganar el prestigioso certamen internacional, compartió en sus redes sociales una imagen del momento en que Mola era coronada como la nueva reina mundial, acompañada de un mensaje en el que expresó la profunda emoción que le produjo ver nuevamente la corona en manos de una dominicana.

«Cuarenta y cuatro años después…, ¡por fin!», escribió Álvarez al comenzar su publicación.

La también comunicadora confesó que recibió la noticia del triunfo con lágrimas y una emoción que, según sus propias palabras, sintió como si se tratara del triunfo de una hija.

«Con la piel erizada y lágrimas en los ojos recibí la noticia del triunfo de Joheirry Mola en Miss World hace pocos minutos. ¡He llorado de emoción como si fuera mi propia hija!», expresó.

Abinader inaugura la carretera de Boca de Chavón

Después de de más de 25 años de espera, el presidente Luis Abinader inauguró este viernes la reconstrucción de la carretera Cruce Autovía del Coral – Boca de Chavón, en el municipio de San Rafael del Yuma, provincia La Altagracia. 

La obra, ejecutada por el Ministerio de Obras Públicas y Comunicaciones (MOPC), pone fin a una demanda histórica de la comunidad y representa un avance decisivo para la movilidad, la seguridad vial y el desarrollo de la región Este.

Con más de 5.5 kilómetros de asfaltado, la intervención fortaleció el enlace con la Autovía del Coral. Facilitó los desplazamientos de residentes y visitantes, redujo tiempos de traslado y elevó los estándares de seguridad en una zona de alto valor productivo y turístico.

Ministro de Obras Públicas

El ministro de Obras Públicas y Comunicaciones, Eduardo Estrella destacó que las acciones que impulsa el presidente Luis Abinader representan una verdadera transformación para el país.

Señaló que con cada nueva inauguración se genera desarrollo y se abren oportunidades para la creación de empleos. Asimismo, resaltó la responsabilidad con que el mandatario administra los recursos públicos, al ahorrar y dar seguimiento permanente al avance de las obras que se ejecutan en beneficio de la ciudadanía.

Reafirmó que las grandes obras no se miden solo por su complejidad técnica, sino por su capacidad de acercar el progreso a la gente. «Esta reconstrucción fue la muestra de un Gobierno que escucha, cumple y planifica pensando en el bienestar colectivo».

Ahora en Boca de Chavón, las gentes tendrán acceso directo e inmediato a calles asfaltadas, iluminadas y con aceras seguras para más de 3,500 residentes del sector Boca de Chavón.

Asimismo, integración expedita de los sectores productivos del municipio (pescadores, agricultores y comerciantes) con la vía rápida de la Autovía del Coral.

Reconstrucción de calles en el sector San Pedro de Higüey

En el marco de las intervenciones en la provincia, el MOPC también entregó la reconstrucción de 2.62 kilómetros de calles adyacentes a la Escuela Cándido Eligio Guerrero, en el sector San Pedro del municipio de Higüey.

La obra, ejecutada por el Consorcio RYLCO & Asociados, incorporó pavimento, aceras, contenes, drenaje pluvial, obras hidráulicas y señalización.

Los principales indicadores de la intervención incluyen 54,600 metros cuadrados de superficie vial, 4,851.90 metros lineales de aceras, 4,851.90 metros lineales de contenes y bordillos, 1,490 metros lineales de alcantarillado pluvial y 62 imbornales.

Se sumaron además 108.48 metros lineales de badenes, 1,845 metros cúbicos de canalización, 768 metros cúbicos de gaviones, 640 metros cuadrados de geotextil y un cajón vial-hidráulico de 10 × 3.50 metros.

La obra mejoró de manera tangible la movilidad cotidiana, la seguridad vial, la accesibilidad a hogares, escuelas, comercios y servicios, y el manejo de las aguas pluviales. El sistema de drenaje, uno de los componentes centrales, permite conducir adecuadamente las aguas y proteger las vías, garantizando que la infraestructura se mantenga operativa y segura.

República Dominicana se alzó con su segunda corona de Miss Mundo 2026, edición que se llevó a cabo este 5 de septiembre en Khánh Hòa, Vietnam.

La dominicana Joheirry Mola Dominguez se coronó en el certamen de belleza después de 44 años de Mariasela Alvarez haber conquistado el título en 1982. 

Mola es la sucesora de Opal Suchata Chuangsri, de Tailanda. 

Tras pasar al top 6 junto a España (primera finalista), Malasia (segunda finalista), Sudáfrica, Vietnam y Eritrea, Mola resultó ganadora de la 73.ª edición del concurso. 

Miss Mundo 2026 se transmitió a través de Telesistema (canal 11), bajo la conducción de Dafne Guzmán y Wanda Sánchez.

This was an easy city to navigate, and it was a beautiful city – despite its ugly, staunch and stolid communist-built surrounds. Sofia has a very average facade as you enter the city, but once you lose yourself in the old town area, everything changes.

Clothes can transform your mood and confidence. Fashion moves so quickly that, unless you have a strong point of view, you can lose integrity. I like to be real.
